May Happenings and MORE!

The dance year is winding down-it has really gone by fast and just wanted to let all of you know how much I appreciate you trusting me with your cute kids.  These last two weekends have been busy to say the least, but they have been so fun and rewarding seeing those kids conquer their fears and have FUN!  I am genuinely so proud of each girl and love seeing the growth and potential of each student. For May Calendar: We will have regular scheduled practice this upcoming week (April 30-May3).  The week of the recital, the Junior High was nice and accommodating for us to get some practice time on their gym floor.  I didn't want to take advantage of their generosity so we are only doing 30 min time slots for each class except for preschool class- we will need the whole hour :)  So here is a rundown of dates/times for classes to do run throughs @ Snowcrest JH.

Monday May  7th
2:40pm-3:10pm-Dawin  (Elementary kids will need to be taken out of school- sorry)
3:15pm-3:45pm- Wild Horses
3:50pm-4:20pm - Girl Power
4:25pm-4:55pm- Wings (This is the Tuesday Jazz class-rehearsal is Monday-no class Tuesday)

Wednesday May 9th
2:30-3:00pm- NO
3:00-3:30pm-Cooties
3:30-4:00pm- Cinderella
4:00-4:30pm- Whistle
4:30-5:00pm- Strip That Down
5:00-5:30pm- Morning Song

Thursday May 10th
2:30-3:30pm- PRESCHOOL CLASS
3:30-4:00pm- Halo
4:00-5:00pm- Somebody and Dynamite

This is important even though it is a shorter time slot.  This will make Friday night a lot less chaotic for the kids....and me;)

Please keep up with tuition fees. Text me if you have questions regarding amount. The only other fee I am adding on is a $12 dollar recital DVD fee per family. This is a mandatory fee.  Extra DVD's can also be added to your order for only $10 each. DVD's will be mailed directly to your home when they are finished. Greg Anderson does a wonderful job video/editing for me every year and it is a great keepsake for your kiddos to watch. To keep his services I want to make sure it is worth his time and effort. Please Add the $12 to May tuition. Forms will need to be filled out at the recital for address information. If you have more than one dancer in your family-only one DVD fee of $12 is required. He has other DVD's from previous recitals if you are interested in ordering any other YEAR END reviews for same price.

Recital night-Friday, May 11th!  We have A LOT of solos that want to perform at the recital this year...... So we will be starting 6:30pm on the dot and will just keep running and hopefully get done at a decent time:)

We will have regular classes the week of May 14th and then No classes the following week which is the last week of school. Thank you for your support!

Starstruck Dance Comp and Dress rehearsal

I have received both line-up times for solo and team competitions. I am waiting to hear back from Starstruck because dancEnvy only has 2 numbers inbetween their two performance times so hopefully that will get changed. Parking garage is behind the theater on the west side of Washington Blvd. I have wristbands and will wait out in the foyer as you arrive. If I am not their give me a call and I will come out and find you. Soloists need to check in at the music table.  The Rehearsal Hall on Stage right is available to practice in, warm up, etc. IT IS NOT A DRESSING ROOM. Soloists will also need to check in on stage  10 numbers before their turn to perform.  Lane 1 Stage Right and Lane 2 Stage Left. Other than that, please be ready to perform 1 1/2 hours before first scheduled performance time. Come in your first costume-Dressing room space is very limited!  Usually,  most competitions run early and they don't stop to catch up....they just keep going. Starstruck Dance Comp are charging spectator entry fees. $5 per person but 5 yr olds and under are free. You can get a 2 day pass for $8 if you will be a spectator for solos too
. We will have full out dress rehearsal during their class times this upcoming week. It will be best if parents can stay and help with changes so that you are informed of what needs to happen. Hopefully the girls have already tried on their costumes and adjustments made to any costumes that may not fit exactly and make sure costumes are steamed if wrinkly. NO UNDERWEAR unless nude color or if they are wearing a biketard so that you don't see it.  No BRAS unless you can't see straps. If you need to wear a bra and the straps show you will need clear straps. No fingernail or toenail polish! Make sure you bring costumes in a costume bag or suitcase with names already on articles of costume....even shoes and hair pieces. Make sure you have a checklist and go through it before you leave dress rehearsal at the studio and before going to competition. I will have a line up list at the studio so you can write down the times etc....I emailed if not all..most of you the line ups already.  Please text if any questions.

This is the final cost of  costumes. You should be able to subtract what you have paid so far for costumes and find the balance or some of you may even have credit:) You must bring remaining balance of costumes to pick them up next week.  They will be available starting Monday at the studio for pick up during classes. If you don't know the balance it will be on the bag with your childs costume or if you want the total before hand you will need to text me)

Dress rehearsal will be during classes the week after spring break! Come to your regular class day and time in your costume with hair -you don't need makeup:) You will receive a costume check list and hair and makeup guide for your child when you pick up costumes also. Please label child's name on EVERY INDIVIDUAL ITEM in your costume bag(even hair accesories and shoes) and bring a costume bag or carry one to pack costumes. 

Year End Dance Recital!

Friday May 11, 2018 6:30pm @ Snowcrest Junior High is our year end dance recital! I've had the date on the board in the studio and kept forgetting to post-sorry!  Mark your calendars! We are getting too close to competition-Ive had a lot of students missing classes.  We may need to have extra classes to get ready in time so please don't miss and Please practice at home!

Competition FEES!!

I have only had 13 out of 50 students that are competing pay all of their competition fees. I have already paid in full one of the competitions with my own funds and the other competition fees are due the beginning of next week. PLEASE PAY ASAP!!! All comp teams are performing in both competitions including Monday's ACRO class -Starstruck is $16 per dance per dancer and Rocky Mountain is $22 per dance per dancer. Wednesdays 5-6 yr old class is just doing Rocky Mountain Comp and so will only owe $22 for the one dance.

No Dance on Valentine's Day!

There will be no dance this WEDNESDAY on VALENTINE'S DAY! Please Enjoy the day with your LOVED ones and spread the word! We will have a make up day if needed.  The 5-6yr old Jazz Class will be performing at the Rocky Mountain Classic Dance Competition at Weber State on April 21st.  Please pay the $22 competition fee ASAP. I still need all other competition fees for those competing. If you are doing a solo for RMC please pay $80 to me and if you are doing a solo for SDC you should have done so online already. Jackets are done! They will be handed out soon and shirts for older classes are being printed. Thanks for your patience.

I apoligize for not setting comp dates earlier-I was wanting to try out new competitions this year that were local and got caught up in the decision of picking ones that were local, not too pricey, on a stage setting, and good reviews which are hard....because it doesn't matter what competition you review, there are always good and bad-By the time I decided, some of the competitions solos were already full-SO HA! Back to the drawing board. So...for this year we will be doing Rocky Mountain Classic and Starstruck. Unless there is an important event already planned for those weekends ALL comp dancers are required to attend. PLEASE let me KNOW AS SOON AS YOU FIND OUT IF THEIR ARE CONFLICTS-ONCE THEY ARE REGISTERED WE CAN NOT GET A REFUND!
