Winding up!

This dance season is quickly winding down to the last few weeks. Some reminders to put on schedule- Dance Recital is Friday, May 12, 6pm @ Snowcrest Junior High.  It is free to the public and we encourage you to invite all friends and family that would like to attend. My videographer, Greg Anderson, will be taping the entire program again and he puts together a wonderful DVD for only $12 a copy. He will have order forms to fill out for those at the recital. I am going to need helpers for the younger classes.  If you have a child in the age range of 3-8 I am asking that you find a neighbor or friend to help with costume changes inbetween dances so that you can enjoy the show. I don't need a helper for each kid so if you find someone and have friends who are looking you will probably be good to have one helper every 3-4 kids.  I usually do this but I am crazy busy times 10 right now and could really use the help:)  The kids will be able to get their costumes next week if they have a 0 balance for tuition and costumes.  If you don't know where you stand please text me and I can look at your child's records.  Once you receive the costumes please have your child try them on to make sure they fit.  I will include a list with the costumes with which song, how I want their hair/make-up for the recital and a costume check list.  Please put your child's name or initials on every costume item. Because I had to fit in the recital a little earlier in the month than usual we will still be having class the following week.(May 17th and 18th)  It will be a fun dance party with food etc so don't miss out!  Don't Forget-We will still have dance intensives and camps to help fill your relaxing summer schedule so stay tuned for dates and times next post! Those that are interested in trying out for a competition class for next season will definitely want to take the Intensives:)  Last Item for today:  High Fitness is now adding a morning class on Thursdays from 6-7am So you can now Start off your day right! There is still a Tuesday evening class but the time has changed from 8:30-9:30pm for the Month of May:)  I have heard really great positive feed back from those that have attended the High Fitness Class this month. Dance Recital Set and other important dates and info

It's crazy to think this dance year is already starting to wind down and competition season just starting to heat up:)  Please make sure your child is in class every week-even if they aren't too sick it would be at least helpful for them to observe during class.  We have limited time to finish and clean dances before our first performances.  I have emailed most of the competition classes their music so they can practice at home- very important- as individual works hard it will definitely show as they perform as a team. If you would like your child's music emailed to you please send me your email-leave in the comment section or text me:) I sent home financial statements last week. Please pay ASAP! If you didn't receive one make sure you get that from me this week. Costumes will not be handed out unless accounts are paid up.  There will not be classes during Spring Break the first week of April so I will be having an extra practice for dancElect and dancElite on March 25th. We are still finishing choreography on some dances.  It is hard to continue when all of class is not present. We end up repeating what we did the week before:/  DancElect from 9-10:30am and dancElite from 10:00-11:30am. All of costumes have been purchased other than shoes for hip hop dance numbers.  I am going to find a shoe store that has the shoes I want-see what kind of discount I can get and then I will send you guys to buy your own shoes.  It is too hard for me to order shoes since they fit everyone differently. I will send home info regarding the shoes once I have everything lined up.  I did a shoe order today for the half-sole lyrical shoes today.  If anyone else wants to order please send payment of $15 with child's shoe size.  It is not mandatory, but I have a lot of girls practicing with socks during class. They need to practice with what they are performing in-so either bare feet, or a half-sole shoe-no socks! All Competiton Classes- Dress Rehearsal will be Saturday April 22nd from 10-Noon! Mandatory.  They should get their costumes that week-make sure child's name put on every piece of costume. Hang in a costume bag and make sure you have hair, make up, safety pins etc.-This will be a run down exactly how it will be on competition day-so moms will want to be there;) I will have a list of exactly what your child needs and how hair to be worn each dance when they receive costumes. If your child is doing a solo you and your child have basic responsibility to make sure I get music and they have a costume etc. I am willing to help but don't have the time to chase down everybody-you'll have to ask:) All other classes will have dress rehearsal the week of the recital which is Friday MAY 12th 6pm @ Snowcrest Junior High.  It is free to the public-so invite family, friends, and neighbors:)

Happy Valentines Day!!! Hope everyone has a special day with loved ones today!  I need to do some housekeeping. I sent home a sheet for competition fees and have only received a few payments back.  Competition fees were due in January and are now late.  When I was checking out routines in the shopping cart the routines were actually more than I stated on earlier posts.  It must not have been updated when I took the information from their website previously.  The new fees are Releve $33 per routine-3 routines = $99   Aspire $23 per routine - 3 routines = $69  Both competitions together equal $168.  Solo routines- Releve $105 and Aspire $82. Your child will not be registered for a solo unless they pay in advance. If you need me to order a solo costume I will need a costume order and size with payment in advance before I purchase.  These should be done ASAP since some costumes could take a few months to fill out order. My costume magazines are in the studio and you are welcome to order from any of them.  I am also missing costume payments.  I have purchased the bulk of costumes but still need to order more and need the funds to purchase those. If you don't know where you stand payment wise just text me or see me during class and I can check for you.  We are winding down till our competitions and year end review in May. I have a tentative schedule to have the Dance Recital on Friday, May 12th @ 6:30pm. If there are any huge conflicts please get in touch ASAP.  I have had lots of kids absent and it is hard to push forward in routines when I don't have a consistent role.  Please make every effort  to have your child at class every week so that they can have a good experience and it not be overwhelming to catch up. To show you how crazy this month is- you will notice that I am barely posting for the month and it is almost over......Ooops- Sorry!
If you hadn't noticed on the bulletin in the studio- tomorrow is the last day of classes before Christmas Break. Wednesdays Classes will be in session but not Thursdays classes since I am following Weber County School Districts Calendar.  Thursdays classes-we will be doing a make up day in Jan or Feb so stay tuned.  We did measurements last week and I have already made a HUGE costume order so make sure you have paid your first costume payment and if not make it with the costume payment in January.  Also, competition classes- your comp fees are due at the beginning of January so I can register and get early discounts. I messed up with Aspire early discount- it is only $2 not $3. So Total for both competitions is $78+$62=$141.  Solo competition fees are separate if you are child is doing one. Dance Competition Dates for DancExcel, DancElect, and DancElite

It is time to set the calendars for our competition dates! I am avoiding Easter Holiday and Spring Break so hopefully all can make this work.  If there is a conflict I need to know ASAP!!!!!! The first competition is Releve DC in Provo on April 28th and 29th. Solo's are usually done on Friday and Team comp on Saturday. Solo fees are $95 and team fees per girl per dance is $26. I am planning on each team performing 3 team dances-so around $78. The second competition is that next weekend.... May 5th and 6th in Murray. That competition is for Aspire DC.   Solo fee is $82 but you can get a $4 discount if you register before Jan 31st.  Team fees are $23 per girl per dance-but I can get a $3 discount for each girl/dance if I register before Jan 31st! If I register early that will be $60 per kid and $69 if  I register after Jan 31st. I will need competition fees at the beginning of January paid so I can get the discount!  So $78 + $60=  $138  If you are doing a solo to one or both of these competitions I will also need your solo fee by then too. You can start breaking up payment if it is helpful just make sure you put a memo on the check or the envelope of your payment.  Thank you!

November Happenings

Hope everyone had a Happy Halloween! A few reminders for this new month: No dance November 23rd and 24th-It is Thanksgiving Break and we wish all of you a safe and memorable Holiday with Family and Friends! If you haven't paid 1st costume payment-please get that taken care of by this month.  I will start measuring for costumes this week:) Dance tanks are finally in print so make sure you have paid registration fees and filled out forms because those will be handed out within the next few weeks. Keep up the strengthen core and stretching weekly sheets. I have already been receiving some and those names will be entered into a drawing soon. Also, Shout out to all those that attended Releve's Dance Intensive! The teachers and choreography were amazing-such a neat opportunity for those that attended-I am planning on doing it again next year if they have it again. Thank YOU!
