October Happenings

October is already here! Fall is in full swing and so is DANCE! Great start to a new year! Just a few items and reminders for October.  Releve Dance Intensive is Saturday October 15th @ Riverton High School.  It is not too late to sign up if your dancer still wants to attend.  Check previous post for info. I will be going down, so anyone who needs a ride let me know in advance to set up a carpool.  First Costume payment of at least $30 is due this month. Make sure you write it in the memo on your check or write on envelope if cash. There will be NO dance classes held Thurs October 20th because of Fall Break. I will try to see if I can work in a make up day sometime soon.  I am starting an incentive/reward program for those that want to participate.  It is to increase flexibility and core strength. Print off the chart or pick one up at my studio. At the end of the month, turn in their charts. For each week they completed the goal, their name will get entered into a drawing for special awards/prizes.(example-they met the goal all 4 weeks during the month-their name will be entered in 4 times)  Last item, I still haven't received Registration Forms and Registration Fees from some of you-and some of the forms I have received have no contact info.  I need at least a email or cell-especially if there was an emergency at dance and I needed to get in contact with someone. I will be sending out the dance tank tops to get printed soon. I am printing out a list with names and sizes- If your child's name is not on list it is because I still need registration fee and/or form for your child. Please double check sizes listed.  Some of you did not put shirt size so I may have had to guess. That is it for now! Hope you all enjoy this beautiful time of year!

Dance Workshop/Intensive

A Group of my dancers competed in a RELEVE Dance Competition last season and we have been invited to attend a RELEVE Dance Intensive/Workshop coming up this October.   All competition dancers must attend at least one dance workshop this year and this workshop is a great opportunity at a very decent price. REGISTER your child Before  October 1st to save $10 by logging onto website provided above and then text me when you have registered your child.  I will be driving down so we can set up a carpool for those attending. All dancers are welcome to sign up and attend whether or not you are on a comp team. Thank YOU!

Classes Start Soon!

Classes start September 7th and 8th!   Hope to see you all there-It is not too late to register. There is plenty of room in all classes. :) Just register when you bring your child to first class.  Any questions feel free to message me- Looking forward to an awesome dance year-THANKS!!!

Registration

The New Dance Season is right around the corner.   First-Registration will be next week, August 10th and 11th from 9:30am-12:30pm. I will be teaching summer intensives from 10am-Noon on both of those days but will have forms on the table ready to fill out.  If you have any questions I would be happy to answer them.  If your child wants to be on a competition team (DancElect, DancElite), these summer intensive classes are their tryouts-obviously anyone, whether they want to be on a comp team or not, can come to these classes, but those trying out will be given a number during the intensives and then put on a team according to age and ability.  The results will be emailed shortly after. You do not have to tryout for DancExcel-just willing to work hard and no complaining since it is a 2 hour class ;)  If your child wants to be on a comp team and cannot attend the summer intensive classes next week, please message me and we will try to have a make up day. Please enclose Registration fee of $40 per student with your form-the registration fee will include a DancElation shirt or tank.

Preliminary Class Schedule is as follows:
Wednesdays:
5-6yr old  1:45pm-2:45pm
6-7yr old competition  2:45-4:45 DancExcel
7-9yr old  4:45pm-6:15pm (this class has option to compete at recreation level only)
10 and older- 2 hr 6:15pm-8:15pm(this class has option to compete at recreation level only)
Thursdays:
Preschool-2:45pm-3:45pm
DancElect- 3:45pm-5:45pm (tryout only)
DancElite- 5:15pm-8:15pm (tryout only)

Those on Competition classes will be required to attend at least One Dance Workshop.  These are great opportunities and experiences. The cost for a Full day dance Workshop is between $100-$150. I will post information when a workshop opportunity comes up.

Each class will be learning 2-3 dances in different genres to perform or compete in.  Our Year End Dance Review is the end of May.  Competition season usually starts in February and goes through May.  Competition classes will compete in 2 competitions this year. The Competitions I am looking at for this year are Aspire Dance Pro, Gotta Move, Utah Dance Fest, Dance Spectacular and Releve, The ones I am most interested in are primarily done in March so I would have to be confident the girls can learn and perfect routines in a smaller period of time.

Those that are interested in doing a Solo, Duet, or Trio for competition this year please contact me ASAP.  Choreography fees and studio rental fees will apply which will be around $100. Extra 1 on 1 lessons will be $10 per hour once choreography is taught.


Monthly Tuition Prices are:
1 hr week- $35
1 1/2 hr week- $50
2 hr week- $65
3 hr week- $90

Sibling discount $5 per month

This Week!

Last Week of Parade Camp! Remember to bring tennis shoes-we will probably practice behind the truck the last half of tuesday and then all of Thursday- We will meet at my studio and then safely travel to Eden Park to drive around. You should get your pom poms this week- you will need to "Fluff" them-I will have a demonstration during class:)... I should have parade clothes ready to hand out Tuesday too-latest by Thursday of course:) Also, our 2nd Summer Intensive class is this Wednesday.  We did Ballet a few weeks ago and this week we are doing Hip Hop!
