Costumes and Name on dancElation jackets

Hope you all had a fantastic Thanksgiving Holiday with friends and family! Just a few housekeeping items. We will be measuring girls this week for costumes-The first costume payment of $40 is overdue if you have not paid that yet. The second costume fee of $40 will be in January.  Please get that done ASAP! For all competition classes, we will be deciding on which competitions we will be attending next year within the next couple of weeks-so stay tuned and get your calendars ready to mark the dates and let us know if there are any conflicts.
Also, I have purchased the jackets/shirts that will have the dancElation logo on it for this year that you will receive as part of your registration payment.
. Before I got them printed with the logo- I wanted to offer those who want to put their names on their jackets/shirts for only $3 more.  If you want child's name on it- please enclose $3 with how you want your child's name spelled on jacket/shirt on the check or separate paper if you are doing cash. Here is example of jacket with name on front-Logo is on the back.Some of you have not paid registration fee's for the year-please get that taken care of ASAP- THANK YOU!

Thursday-October 26th!

We will only have Preschool Class tomorrow from 2:45-3:45pm.  DancElite Team ONLY- I would like to all meet at Studio by 6:30pm to review dance before performance-some of you will already be doing hair and make-up there with Cheyenne.  EVERYONE- please try to be at the Junior High by 7:00pm. Our performance time will be around 7:30pm in the gym. I would like to try to space everyone on the floor and do a run through before the performance if possible-if not, we'll just wing it:)  Looking forward to this first performance of the year!  Just wear any Halloween or Monster Costume-Preschooler's, don't forget your buckets and a SMILE!

Fall Festival Performance and Solo Information.

Our studio has been asked to perform at the Fall Festival Fundraiser this year. It will be held Thursday, October 26th at Snowcrest Junior High.  All Tuesday, Wednsday, and Thursday classes except for the Preschool class, will be dancing to Calling All The Monsters. They will need to dress up as some sort of Halloween Monster. I don't have the exact time we are performing yet so stay tuned. The Preschool class will need a Trick-or-Treat bucket and can dress up however they would like.  Please start bringing the buckets to class so they can practice with them.  If you are not able to make the performance please let me know ahead of time.  It shouldn't cost anything to come in and perform but wrist bands are available to purchase to do all of the games, booths, inflatables, etc. There is usually food you can purchase and tickets for the Spook Alley also. When we get a performance time set I will let you know what time all the dancers need to meet in the gym. Last time one of the girls didn't perform because she was going through the spook Alley and she was really sad.....
If you are wanting to do a solo this year it is NOW is the time to start signing up.  Please do so by texting whomever you would like to choreograph your solo. Contact info will be posted at the end of this post. Solo practice days/ times will be set up individually with you and your choreographer.  If you know what genre/style of dance your child would like to do or even have a song picked out-you most likely can get started ASAP.
 Solo fees are as follows:
$100- 1 time choreography fee-includes lessons to learn all of the routine. Lessons to clean routine after the routine is taught will be extra, and the fees per hour will be set by the choreographer.
$50- 1 time studio rental fee.
$150 TOTAL for SOLO FEE. Fee's are to be paid directly to your individual choreographer.
Costume's will be left up to the individual. I have costume catalogs you are welcome to order from but will need to contact me if you are interested. Those whom are competing with their Solo's must pay fees before I can register them for that competition.

Classes Start Soon! and Register for Dance Intensive and Workshop ASAP!

We are so excited to have classes starting Soon!  We were going to start classes on Monday, Septemeber 4th but I just found out that is a Holiday-so have a Happy Labor Day and NO DANCE. Classes will start the next day- Tuesday September 5th. Please bring or fill out registration form and payment by first class if you haven't already.  Also, Early Registration deadline for the Releve Dance Intensive is coming up shortly-Septemeber 14th. Whomever won the $25 gift card for the Releve Intensive at the Dance Recital in May can use that only for this Intensive but you need to let me know so I can get your card number for your discount when registering. ALL dancers are welcome to attend but specifically would encourage ALL competition dancers to attend.   Early Registration is $110 but most likely will go up to at least $125 after the deadline.  This will be an all day Intensive on October 14th and held at Riverton High School and you will need to bring your own lumch and snacks. Please plan accordingly and feel free to set up carpools:)
Also, all those who want to expand their Hip Hop moves won't want to miss HIP HOP UTAH on November 4th. Please register online. You spend the day being taught by some of the most well-known hip hop dancers and choreographers in the dance world.Such a great Oppportunity! See you in Class SOON!

I am charging $100 per month for all 4 comp classes for dancElite and dancElect.. I am charging $85 per month for all 3 comp classes for dancExcel and dancEnvy or if you are dancElite or dancElect and get permission to opt out of one of the classes. $65 per month if you are only doing 2 of the required classes after getting permission to opt out. You are still eligible to take off $5 for each additional sibling.

Fall Class times/days posted! Registration/Competition try-out days/forms here!

This is the tentative schedule for Fall classes starting in September.(4th) We have opened up more classes so that the kids can really work on technique regarding specific dance genres/styles. If you noticed we have two new fabulous instructors this year! They are also helping with Solo's and are ready to start choreographing as soon as they get the go ahead so if you are interested-the sooner the better:)FACTS class is geared specifically to competition classes so they can work on flexibility, tricks, and technique but are open to anyone else whom want to attend.  I am also going to do an adult class tentatively Thursday Evening, so if you are interested please write it down on the registration form.

Classes are subject to change after registration so please check back regularly. Registration will be August 7th and 14th from 9am-Noon which are also the Competition try out dates. Those that would like to be on a competition team please attend tryout dates and times-August 7th and 14th! 6-9yr olds from 9:00am-10:30am and 10 and older from 10:30am-Noon. . If you would like to tryout and will be gone those days please contact me before hand and we will have a make up date. Located below is the registration form. Please print and fill out and bring to the studio on the registration dates completely filled out, read, signed, and registration $ attached in check or cash enclosed in envelope with name. If you are not available for registration dates please fill out and mail with registration payment to 1931 S River Run Drive, Huntsville, UT 84317.  I will have some forms available at the studio to fill out if you are not able to print out beforehand. Some Awesome Dance Opportunities this Weekend!

Don't miss out on our Lyrical/Contemporary Intensive this Friday! This class will be taught by one of DancElation's New Instructors-Cheyenne Crafton! She is an amazing dancer and this will give you the opportunity to check her mad dancing skills out and learn a fun yet challenging combo! There is also another opportunity this Saturday to take a Master Class from one of my favorite choreographers-. Kassie Searle.  She is teaching a Memorial Master Class in which all proceeds will go to the family of one of her former dancers that has passed on. The Master Class will be held at Infinity Dance Studio 2761 S 1900 W in West Haven. Here is info regarding that:

Jazz Intensive Tomorrow! and Lyrical Intensive date changed

 Jazz Intensive TOMORROW July 10th!  Flexibility and Acro starts @9am only $5 and Jazz Intensive from 10am-Noon for $15!

The Lyrical Intensive date is changed from Monday July 17th to Friday July 21st-please make date change on your calendars. I accidentally double booked princess camp on that same day. So Come to Flexibility/Acro on Friday, July 21 @9am and then the Lyrical Intensive from 10am-Noon! Hope to See you all there and hope you are all having a wonderful summer!

Ballet Intensive this Week!

Our Ballet Intensive is this week! We had a great showing for our Hip Hop and hopefully we will have just as good at our Ballet Intensive.  Ballet is the Basic foundation of dance and so if you are serious about becoming a great dancer this Intensive is a MUST!!! Get in a good hour of stretching and core strength right before from 9-10am and follow by the Intensive from 10-Noon this Friday the 15th! This intensive will be taught by Miss Savannah Holbrook who has a great background in ballet. Some of you had the opportunity of working with her in solos last year and DancElation is excited to have her teaching again! Also, our first Princess Dance Camp starts this week! We have a full class registered for a lot of Princess Fun! Reminder for those that registered for Parade camp- it is cancelled due to low turn out. We are going to add a Cheer Camp this year instead! Wait for details to come on that. Hope you are all enjoying your summer so far!

Class parties cancelled this week

Due to weather (I had specifically planned activities and food for outside) and personal conflicts that have arisen I have decided to cancel the class parties this week. I could have changed some of the activities to inside but because of other things that have popped up in my schedule, I could have only done a few of the class parties but didn't think if fair to have some classes and not others-Sorry! This week all classes will be rehearsing @ Snowcrest Junior High School. Please be aware of the times for each class since they are all different from their original time schedule.  Each class only has 45min on the floor. They are welcome to wear one of their costumes to the rehearsal if they want to but this will not be a full on dress rehearsal,,,,,we don't have the time. I posted the recital program already on the blog, so if you want to know the order of your child's dances please look to previous posts.  Here are the time slots for rehearsal this week.

Winding up!

This dance season is quickly winding down to the last few weeks. Some reminders to put on schedule- Dance Recital is Friday, May 12, 6pm @ Snowcrest Junior High.  It is free to the public and we encourage you to invite all friends and family that would like to attend. My videographer, Greg Anderson, will be taping the entire program again and he puts together a wonderful DVD for only $12 a copy. He will have order forms to fill out for those at the recital. I am going to need helpers for the younger classes.  If you have a child in the age range of 3-8 I am asking that you find a neighbor or friend to help with costume changes inbetween dances so that you can enjoy the show. I don't need a helper for each kid so if you find someone and have friends who are looking you will probably be good to have one helper every 3-4 kids.  I usually do this but I am crazy busy times 10 right now and could really use the help:)  The kids will be able to get their costumes next week if they have a 0 balance for tuition and costumes.  If you don't know where you stand please text me and I can look at your child's records.  Once you receive the costumes please have your child try them on to make sure they fit.  I will include a list with the costumes with which song, how I want their hair/make-up for the recital and a costume check list.  Please put your child's name or initials on every costume item. Because I had to fit in the recital a little earlier in the month than usual we will still be having class the following week.(May 17th and 18th)  It will be a fun dance party with food etc so don't miss out!  Don't Forget-We will still have dance intensives and camps to help fill your relaxing summer schedule so stay tuned for dates and times next post! Those that are interested in trying out for a competition class for next season will definitely want to take the Intensives:)  Last Item for today:  High Fitness is now adding a morning class on Thursdays from 6-7am So you can now Start off your day right! There is still a Tuesday evening class but the time has changed from 8:30-9:30pm for the Month of May:)  I have heard really great positive feed back from those that have attended the High Fitness Class this month. K- Now everyone brace themselves for this crazy school year end and ENJOY!

DancElation is excited to announce it is offering a High Fitness class for adults at our studio! Classes start Tuesday, April 11th from 7-8pm and will be taught by Certified High Fitness Instructor- Caralee Wight! Don't miss the new fitness craze everyone is talking about and you have nothing to lose (except those extra pounds:) by trying it out for FREE the month of April!! Come join the fun!

Dance Recital Set and other important dates and info

It's crazy to think this dance year is already starting to wind down and competition season just starting to heat up:)  Please make sure your child is in class every week-even if they aren't too sick it would be at least helpful for them to observe during class.  We have limited time to finish and clean dances before our first performances.  I have emailed most of the competition classes their music so they can practice at home- very important- as individual works hard it will definitely show as they perform as a team. If you would like your child's music emailed to you please send me your email-leave in the comment section or text me:) I sent home financial statements last week. Please pay ASAP! If you didn't receive one make sure you get that from me this week. Costumes will not be handed out unless accounts are paid up.  There will not be classes during Spring Break the first week of April so I will be having an extra practice for dancElect and dancElite on March 25th. We are still finishing choreography on some dances.  It is hard to continue when all of class is not present. We end up repeating what we did the week before:/  DancElect from 9-10:30am and dancElite from 10:00-11:30am. All of costumes have been purchased other than shoes for hip hop dance numbers.  I am going to find a shoe store that has the shoes I want-see what kind of discount I can get and then I will send you guys to buy your own shoes.  It is too hard for me to order shoes since they fit everyone differently. I will send home info regarding the shoes once I have everything lined up.  I did a shoe order today for the half-sole lyrical shoes today.  If anyone else wants to order please send payment of $15 with child's shoe size.  It is not mandatory, but I have a lot of girls practicing with socks during class. They need to practice with what they are performing in-so either bare feet, or a half-sole shoe-no socks! All Competiton Classes- Dress Rehearsal will be Saturday April 22nd from 10-Noon! Mandatory.  They should get their costumes that week-make sure child's name put on every piece of costume. Hang in a costume bag and make sure you have hair, make up, safety pins etc.-This will be a run down exactly how it will be on competition day-so moms will want to be there;) I will have a list of exactly what your child needs and how hair to be worn each dance when they receive costumes. If your child is doing a solo you and your child have basic responsibility to make sure I get music and they have a costume etc. I am willing to help but don't have the time to chase down everybody-you'll have to ask:) All other classes will have dress rehearsal the week of the recital which is Friday MAY 12th 6pm @ Snowcrest Junior High.  It is free to the public-so invite family, friends, and neighbors:)

Happy Valentines Day!!! Hope everyone has a special day with loved ones today!  I need to do some housekeeping. I sent home a sheet for competition fees and have only received a few payments back.  Competition fees were due in January and are now late.  When I was checking out routines in the shopping cart the routines were actually more than I stated on earlier posts.  It must not have been updated when I took the information from their website previously.  The new fees are Releve $33 per routine-3 routines = $99   Aspire $23 per routine - 3 routines = $69  Both competitions together equal $168.  Solo routines- Releve $105 and Aspire $82. Your child will not be registered for a solo unless they pay in advance. If you need me to order a solo costume I will need a costume order and size with payment in advance before I purchase.  These should be done ASAP since some costumes could take a few months to fill out order. My costume magazines are in the studio and you are welcome to order from any of them.  I am also missing costume payments.  I have purchased the bulk of costumes but still need to order more and need the funds to purchase those. If you don't know where you stand payment wise just text me or see me during class and I can check for you.  We are winding down till our competitions and year end review in May. I have a tentative schedule to have the Dance Recital on Friday, May 12th @ 6:30pm. If there are any huge conflicts please get in touch ASAP.  I have had lots of kids absent and it is hard to push forward in routines when I don't have a consistent role.  Please make every effort  to have your child at class every week so that they can have a good experience and it not be overwhelming to catch up.
